ok ok so I have a question that isn’t really me asking questions just pointing out a gigantic flaw

the Trace doesn’t know WHO did the magic, just that magic was done in the vicinity of an underaged wizard. We see this in CoS, where Harry is blamed for what Dobby did (Wizarding children actually can get away with it, because the Trace is ignored for them because their parents are likely to do magic around them in the summer. Wizard parents are just supposed to keep their kids under control, but the Trace picks up every spell used around or by an underaged wizard or witch).

So what use is giving Harry a guard in OotP to keep him from doing magic? Like if they cast the spell for him, he still gets in trouble. If Dung had cast the Patronus Charm to fend off the Dementors near Harry, he’d still get charged. He’s the only wizard in the area, according to the Wizengamot.

Also, what would happen if someone on the Knight Bus used magic in Harry’s area if he summonsed it? Harry would get charged still, right? Or would the Ministry realise there are more wizards in the area? But the Trace would still trigger around Harry.

This Trace thing seems very flawed.

oh yeah update on my life: I have a 99.1 degree fever and I look like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer a whole month too late. I have a picture of what I look like but LOL CANT POST IT UNLESS I USE THE PHOTO OPTION.

Also my ears are plugged up and my throat is sore and all in all I feel very unattractive and my bedroom floor is a graveyard of toilet paper snot rags. I feel icky but I want food.

Sorry I’ve been skivvying off this side of my world I use it through Firefox now.

Bright side: Youtube is working on my computer again! yay! I’ve spent all of today and yesterday watching the vlogbrothers archives.

I sometimes wonder if my parents and brother know that abuse is still abuse, even when they haven’t raised a hand against me. I’m getting very sick of all the criticism and the snide comments and complaining about me at top volume to each other.

You wanna know why I sleep all day? I can’t sleep at night. I’m lonely. I don’t have much outside of this damn site. I really don’t. My best friends either live 5,000 miles away, or are working. The people who I can talk to and love talking to most are 8 hours ahead of me. I don’t get energy from anything else, I’m never hungry and food has been making me sick to my stomach when I do eat it. Even smelling the food makes it worse.

Even online school makes me feel depressed in the same way regular school did.

You why my brother and my mother are complaining and criticising me now? I didn’t do the dishes. Now all my mother is doing is complaining about every wrong I’ve ever done, all on the basis of laziness. She’s yelling about how I don’t do anything, how I need to get off my lazy ass and do what she asks. How all I do is tell her to “fuck off” when I don’t do what she tells me. She assumes I haven’t bothered with school work at all, because all I do is sit around on my ass in bed doing nothing. She yells that “all [she] ever does is complain about Alicia and Amanda sleeping all day and now SHE does it” which I haven’t bitched about them in over a year. The only reason I ever complained was it always left me completely alone because, surprise, they’re my two closest friends, both in distance from my house and metaphorically. Anyone else who lives near I can and want to see is likewise busy.

And I know someone reading this has it worse, and thinks I’m complaining, and this is just some stupld white girl bitching about not being rich or whatever, and I’m sorry.

I know this feeling I have very well, and right now, I don’t have the ability to fend it off. So I’m going to wallow in what I’ve been told is self-pity until I can go to bed tonight and hopefully get some sleep.
